To tighten the leading (reduce line spacing) in your text, follow the method that fits your tool:
CSS (web)
Use the line-height property. Values:
unitless: line-height: 1.2; (recommended — scales with font size)
percentage: line-height: 120%;
length: line-height: 18px; (fixed)
Apply to an element or selector: p { line-height: 1.2; }
For tighter than default, use values between 1.0 and 1.3 for body text; 0.9–1.1 for display text if needed.
Watch for readability: avoid going below ~1.0 for body copy.
Adobe InDesign
Select text with the Type tool or a text frame.
Open the Character panel (Window > Type & Tables > Character).
Adjust the Leading field: choose an absolute value (
